The Countryside

The Isle of Anglesey is not only a tourist honey-pot, but has some of the most beautiful and varied countryside for hunting in the whole of the United Kingdom.

With the generosity of the farmers, we are able to take advantage of the most stunning views, from the wild coast of the north of the island with the Skerries, West Mouse and the Three Ladies, to the spectacular Straits and views to the Mountains of Snowdonia.  In the middle of the island, we have undulating countryside where we don't even have to touch a B-class road.  We can even gallop along the shore and wash our horses off in the sea at the end of the day.

Jumps are mainly walls, banks and ditches, although post and rail jumps are more common in the south.  There are many natural obstacles, with stick piles in wooded areas, although there is always a way round for those who do not wish to jump.

The best horse is three quarter bred, for stamina, but with the surefootedness of the native breeds for the varied terrain.
