Can I just turn up on the day?
It is courteous to contact the master for permission to hunt. This gives the hunt an idea of numbers for the day and the master will confirm venue and discuss whether the day is suitable for you.

How do I pay my fee?
The treasurer of the hunt will be present at the meet. Please find him/her PRIOR to mounting to pay your membership.

Do I have to jump?
No. There are alternative routes if you do not wish to jump.

Do I have to have insuance?
You should have third party liability insurance. BHS Gold membership or full Countryside Alliance membership will give you this.

Can I bring out a young/novice horse?
Please make sure that you contact the Master before attending if you and/or your horse have not hunted before. You must also tell the Treasurer when paying your cap, so that you can be supported by a senior member of the hunt. You should be able to control your mount at all paces in open fields. A green ribbon warns others  that your horse is a novice.

Do I have to plait my horse?
Tidy turnout of both horse and rider is very important to the hunt. Remember, all the farmers get out of allowing us to cross their land is the spectacle of the hunt.  Don't let us let them down by untidy turnout.

I have never been hunting before, what else do I need to know?
Please read the rules and regulations carefully before hunting for the first time as this will give you a clear idea of what to expect. If you have any further questions or queries please contact the hunt.
